The Opportunity
Presight is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on building an end-to-end AI-powered data processing and analytics platform for enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build foundational components for the enterprise AI platform, including:
- Lakehouse solutions based on industry-leading open-source solutions such as Clickhouse, Trino, and Spark.
- In-house distributed data processing and analytics pipeline engine (triggers, workers, DAGs).
- Data Management and Governance, including sophisticated access control policies.
- Analytical tools backends (search, notebooks, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and developers, to deliver high-quality AI/ML-powered experiences that meet customer needs and business goals.
- Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management, and Governance of Organizations policies, procedures, plans, and related risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of computer science and basic algorithms.
- 5+ years of experience in Java, building APIs and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and building large-scale distributed fault-tolerant services.
- Experience building search, recommendations, or other advanced analytics systems.
- Strong knowledge of programming principles (SOLID).
- Fundamental understanding of data analytics and basic SQL knowledge.
- At least basic knowledge of Python language and ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data engineer experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
- Experience working with Clickhouse on OLAP/DWH workloads.
- Comfort with navigating and troubleshooting front-end code (Typescript/React).
- Interest in AI models and Python notebooks.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for technology and innovation.
