Role Overview
The Technical Delivery Lead takes overall responsibility for the engineering team from both a technology and line management perspective. You will lead a team of approximately 14 engineers, establishing clear objectives and project milestones, developing consistent best practices across the team, and driving the resolution of challenging problems. In addition to line management, you will oversee customer engagements on a day-to-day basis, applying your technical expertise to drive vision into action and achieve desirable outcomes.
This role will be permanently on-site with a customer in Riyadh (KSA). Arabic language skills will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive successful relationships with key customer stakeholders, acting as a primary point of contact for escalations.
- Collaborate with other Rackspace stakeholders to ensure every engagement is a success.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the customer relationship, the team, and Rackspace, owning the outcomes for those improvements.
- Serve as the main contact for your team and the customer concerning day-to-day work delivery.
- Establish strategic plans and operational practices, including people management, skillsets, engagement approaches, processes, policies, and coaching.
- Coach, motivate, and train team members to enhance their delivery quality and efficiency.
- Focus on quality, cost-effective delivery of services, and customer success outcomes.
- Manage a team of highly skilled software developers and engineers on a daily basis.
- Contribute to building a diverse, engaged, and motivated engineering team.
- Host regular team huddles and one-on-one meetings, developing and mentoring team members to support their career growth.
- Actively pursue initiatives to align with company goals and make Rackspace a great workplace.
Technical Skills
- Experience in a Private Cloud environment (VMware or OpenStack).
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and DevOps (open-source software knowledge is considered a plus).
- Proven track record in delivering technical professional services engagements to customers; hands-on project or delivery work may be required.
- A solid understanding of software engineering and cloud technology, including its benefits and challenges.
- Previous experience in delivering technical services in IT.
- Experience in leading and developing a team of software engineers in IT, including hiring and personal development.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations on team performance internally and externally.
- Ability to provide constructive and continuous feedback with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals at various levels within the business, both at customer sites and within the broader organization.
