About the Job
talabat has a great opportunity to broaden its footprint and enhance the experience for customers and vendors. As the Director of Engineering for the Growth tribe, you will be responsible for building and leading the tribe along with its engineering teams. The Growth tribe's engineering organization consists of over 70 engineers working across 8 cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, design, and data leaders to identify challenges and opportunities, leveraging technology solutions to better serve our customers and business. You will guide Domain Leads and their respective teams to scope, validate, build, deploy, and maintain solutions that realize these opportunities. The role focuses on technologies that help talabat’s partners acquire and retain customers on the platform, divided into two domains: Monetization & Incentives and Customer Retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape the engineering vision and strategy for the Growth tribe.
- Build an environment that encourages teams to speak up, be self-organized, effective, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
- Foster personal development and growth of individuals within the team.
- Attract, lead, and retain talent, including engineering managers and engineers.
- Provide technology solutions to support business and product engineering teams in solving complex scenarios.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data counterparts to shape the product vision and strategy.
- Maintain close connections with technology peers from different tribes to ensure support in cross-tribe initiatives.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Ensure domain teams follow best practices to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions.
