About the Opportunity
tMart, our dark store business, is the region's first dark store concept offering 20-30 minute delivery of groceries to our customers. We are currently hiring for a General Manager of tMart UAE who will be responsible for driving the growth of the dark store business across the UAE with the following responsibilities:
- Setting overall Commercial and Operations strategy (mission, format positioning) and identifying new market opportunities, setting targets for revenue and growth, and formulating business strategies.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth such as partnerships and collaborations, while building relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Working closely with the marketing and growth team to develop strategies for acquiring and retaining customers, which may involve setting marketing campaigns, analyzing customer clusters, and optimizing marketing planning.
- Enhancing customer experience in alignment with logistics and customer experience functions by evaluating service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Being accountable for the company P&L, managing budget planning, monitoring expenses, and ensuring financial targets are met. Collaborating with the finance team to prepare financial reports and forecasts.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations by implementing efficient processes and procedures, optimizing workflows, improving productivity, and resolving operational issues.
- Working closely with the product development team to define product roadmaps, prioritize features, and ensure products meet customer needs and market demands.
- Identifying potential risks to the business and developing strategies to mitigate them, including assessing market, regulatory, or operational risks.
What You Need To Be Successful
- At least 10+ years of experience in consumer retail, or CPG, or consulting within this industry looking for an operator role.
- Experience in building teams and leading cross-functional projects at scale.
- Experience working within logistics and real estate is also advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and knows how to prioritize; someone who delivers solutions.
- High level of commitment and resilience to succeed, willing to roll up sleeves when required.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage relationships with senior-level executives.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and maintain a strong growth mindset.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a penchant for being hands-on with various tools.
- Robust interpersonal and intercultural skills, capable of inspiring teams and stakeholders to rally behind a mission.
- Strong network within the CPG industry and authorities.
