Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy & Security Engineer to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy, security engineering, and regulatory compliance. This role requires the ability to implement privacy-by-design principles, develop data protection controls, and ensure alignment with global and regional privacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement privacy-by-design and default principles into systems, processes, and products.
  • Develop and maintain data protection controls, including encryption, anonymization, access control, and secure data storage solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, UAE Personal Data Protection Law, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, and compliance teams to embed privacy and security into the product lifecycle.
  • Perform privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Monitor and audit data usage to detect and address privacy risks and breaches.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans related to data privacy and security breaches.
  • Provide training and awareness on data privacy best practices across the organization.
  • Evaluate and integrate privacy-enhancing technologies and solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in data privacy, security engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, UAE PDPL, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with data protection tools and technologies (e.g., DLP, encryption, IAM).
  • Experience conducting PIAs and DPIAs.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, or similar are preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
