Application Engineer - Drilling Services

About the Role
The Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring flawless execution within the company by participating in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis. This position is responsible for delivering a technical job program or application design that aligns with contract terms and conditions and maximizes opportunities to meet job objectives. The Applications Engineer collaborates with Service Delivery Coordinators and other resources to ensure all aspects and constraints of applications are understood and considered.

Key Responsibilities
As a Services Senior Specialist - Applications Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring compliance with the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.
• Collaborating with the assigned Service Delivery Coordinator/Salesperson to understand clients' well construction or production objectives and the commercial terms.
• Performing offset job analysis and product/service specific engineering modeling calculations to assess application hazards and incident potential.
• Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure all aspects and constraints of the application, as well as suggested products/services, are considered.
• Designing a job program featuring risk mitigation and contingency plans that maximize client objectives and revenue potential.
• Communicating risks of not meeting client objectives through the proper channels.
• Accurately documenting calculations, simulations, and any plan changes for visibility and audit purposes.
• Providing on-demand support according to product portfolio or on-call schedule during job execution.
• Comparing planned jobs versus executed jobs, documenting lessons learned, and developing recommendations for improvements.
• Addressing field incidents related to products/services and participating in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensuring timely incident management for fast customer issue resolutions and cash collection.
• Advising on product improvements for recurring component failures.
• Providing sales support and product application recommendations.
• Handling product line specific responsibilities and special projects as required.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Drilling Services.
• Previous experience in directional drilling.
• Preferred previous experience with the company.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.
• Availability for on-call duties outside normal business hours.
• Experience working in a global matrix organization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• A willingness to travel to rig sites, customer facilities, meetings, and training, as needed.
