Accountabilities
- Identify and address the financial impact of business decisions and strategic initiatives, with the ability to analyze and forecast business impacts.
- Partner with business leaders and make recommendations based on analyses to business units and senior management, aligning decisions with the Business Unit Finance team.
- Present an objective view of the financial situation and provide sound recommendations for resource allocation to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Monitor monthly expenditure variance continuously, ensuring actual expenditure aligns with the plan.
- Lead investigations into significant variances and take necessary control actions as required.
- Direct and manage the preparation, execution, and analysis of the budget and rolling forecasts for business units.
- Lead the units' strategic business drivers to determine investment allocation, creating comprehensive and structured business cases for proposed projects, assessing investment costs, benefits, dependencies, risks, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture that encourages project proposers to consider value, risks, and priorities as fundamental aspects of submissions.
- Evaluate opportunities, risks, and efficiencies by providing adequate information for fair evaluations.
- Report on the KPI performance of the assigned department group.
- Review internal controls and recommend enhancements.
- Present solid business cases to the Cost Management Committee.
- Enhance the costing process related to menu development and changes.
- Conduct regular reviews of general ledger accounts, ensuring timely addressing of exceptional items.
- Facilitate the enhancement and continuous improvement of systems and automation processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance. Preferred: Qualified ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, CA, or any other related postgraduate qualification.
Previous Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of internal finance systems and experience meeting tight internal reporting timelines.
- Expertise in costing methodologies and cost reduction techniques.
- Background in enhancing and continuously improving operational systems.
- Familiarity with cost center accounting, preparing budgets, and forecasts.
- Experience managing a large and diverse team.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information.

- Strong analytical skills to review variances, understand business cycles, and their impact on profit and loss accounts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively across the organization.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Excellent organizational skills to set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines amidst interruptions.

- Ability to train and develop subordinate skills while fostering teamwork among team members.
