C-17 Lead Coordinator

About the Role:

The C-17 Lead Coordinator position supports the company at Al Mubarak Air Base Kuwait as part of the on-site C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program maintenance team for the Kuwait Air Force (KAF). The role involves overseeing organizational level maintenance activities such as aircraft servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis, component replacement, and structural repair to meet KAF mission requirements. As the Lead Coordinator, you will manage multiple maintenance plans, direct a team of technicians, maintain communication with various stakeholders, and ensure the quality and availability of aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) shift leader responsible for coordinating all aircraft organizational maintenance activities in a dynamic environment.
• Direct, train, and mentor mechanics/technicians in daily aircraft launch, recovery, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain continuous communication with labor, management, support functions, and KAF flight crews.
• Collaborate with Logistics Data Management to create maintenance plans, prioritize tasks, and schedule maintenance activities.
• Assess the relationship between flying schedules, airworthiness requirements, and parts availability.
• Employ judgment and critical thinking to evaluate quality standards before authorizing aircraft releases.
• Liaise with customers as the subject matter expert on KAF aircraft conditions and operational capabilities.
• Utilize knowledge to perform root cause analysis of issues and develop corrective action plans.
• Work with organizational leaders on the development and implementation of long-range strategies and objectives.
• Manage and update CLS processes and procedures.
• Track quality metrics and report on organizational health.
• Work independently with minimal direction in a fluid environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 10+ years of C-17 Maintenance experience (expeditor, FCC, flight line, or HSC work).
• Extensive knowledge of Air Force procedures, technical orders, and maintenance information systems (e.g., G081).
• Specialized knowledge of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and subsystems, including the relevant technical network.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience managing C-17 flight line operational maintenance activities in an Air Force environment.
• Experience with the Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) in a multi-national setting.

Typical Education/Experience:

• Education/experience acquired through basic education (e.g., high school diploma/GED) and typically five or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
