E&I Inspector - Offshore

About the Role
This position involves conducting thorough inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations in offshore environments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality control standards (QCS), and international standards such as IEC and IEEE. This role is crucial for maintaining safety, quality, and reliability in electrical and instrumentation systems within oil and gas projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, QCS, and international standards (IEC/IEEE).
• Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship against approved drawings and procedures.
• Enforce offshore Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, including Permit to Work (PTW) systems, confined space entry, and electrical isolation procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports, maintain calibration records, and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
• Liaise with construction teams, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and client representatives during inspections and approvals.
• Witness and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ensure all electrical and instrumentation work is executed under valid permits.
• Confirm calibration of instruments and maintain traceability records.
• Identify hazards in electrical/instrumentation work and recommend corrective actions.
• Suggest improvements in inspection practices and safety culture.

Requirements
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum of 5–7 years offshore inspection experience in oil and gas projects.

Certifications & Training

• BOSIET / HUET (OPITO certified)
• Basic H2S Training
• Offshore Medical Fitness
