Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and upkeep all equipment in the milking parlor.
- Develop technologies related to all types and brands of equipment in the parlors.
- Create routine preventative maintenance schedules for all applicable equipment and ensure proper execution.
- Manage the inventory of parts for the milking parlor.
- Ensure that new maintenance staff receive proper induction, awareness of company policies, and clear understanding of their roles.
- Conduct routine servicing and maintenance of the milking parlors.
- Identify and report hazards/dangers, accidents, near misses, and property damage in the workplace.
- Foster teamwork amongst staff within the unit and in collaboration with other units of the enterprise.
- Maintain data related to parlor maintenance and document all equipment maintenance and repair activities accurately.
- Coordinate daily with the Farm Manager and Parlor Manager to ensure compliance with maintenance activities associated with the milking parlor and related equipment.
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and perform all required maintenance, including set-up, preparation, and clean-up.
- Prioritize and schedule repairs and installations for equipment and facilities to minimize production interference.
- Maintain machine operating standards and review documentation of downtime trends against the standards.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of program planning and implementation.
- Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
- Knowledge in building facility maintenance, logistical procedures, and purchasing.
Job Experience
- Minimum 8 years working experience; 5 years of relevant experience; 2 years of GCC experience is a plus.
