About the role
Join our Financial Services Office (FSO) and work with multi-disciplinary teams from around the world to deliver a global market perspective. The FSO is aligned with key industry groups including asset management and private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance, providing integrated assurance, consulting, strategy & transactions, and tax services to clients. This position is based in Bermuda and is part of the Turnaround & Restructuring services team, focusing on insolvency and restructuring. Successful candidates will have liquidations experience (both solvent and insolvent) while some restructuring and investigations/forensics experience is beneficial but not required.

Your key responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of and support the manager, senior manager, director, and/or associate partner/partner, executing restructuring, liquidation, and/or insolvency procedures and contributing to defining engagement scope.
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships to ensure high-quality work and to anticipate and identify risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Prepare analysis and reports supporting the engagement for delivery to clients and contribute to presenting findings.
  • Act as an effective team member, sharing responsibilities, providing support, and maintaining communication with senior team members on progress.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and confidence in interacting with various stakeholder groups and management teams.
  • Undertake critical tasks for effective onboarding of new clients.
  • Conduct day-to-day tasks for ongoing engagements to ensure effective progress within the allocated budget.
  • Build strong internal relationships within SaT and across other services.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-written reports.
  • Knowledge of business trends, relevant legislation, and emerging technical and industry developments.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proactive approach to progressing matters and raising key issues with the case manager.
  • Awareness of the importance of accurate time recording and its impact on engagement economics.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including additional hours as needed.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • An internationally recognized professional accounting certification, such as ACA, CA, CPA, or equivalent, or a service line relevant certification such as a recognized insolvency qualification.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant experience in a similar position, with experience in restructuring and common law liquidations particularly within the "Big 4" or a boutique restructuring/insolvency firm, along with demonstrated leadership and business development skills.
  • High level of commercial acumen with awareness of key industry drivers.
  • Proficiency in detailed financial and commercial analysis, able to identify potential areas of sensitivity.
  • Ability to identify key issues on assignments and suggest workable solutions, alongside experience in presenting findings clearly to clients.

Ideally, you may also have

  • Appreciation of the risks inherent in advising distressed businesses and their stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of current market issues in financial services.
  • Experience working on project-based teams solving complex issues.
