The company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HSE Officer to join our growing team in Qatar. Responsibilities
- Stay updated on legislative changes and best practices related to HSE, ensuring compliance.
- Implement assessment programs for HSE risks, including safety permitting, risk assessments, environmental analysis, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote resource conservation and waste minimization, providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Deliver awareness and training sessions (including HSE Induction) to project personnel and stakeholders, contributing to the training matrix and coaching team members as needed.
- Coordinate the maintenance and supply of first-aid equipment and facilities.
- Maintain proper equipment logs and oversee inspections of necessary equipment.
- Be an emergency point of contact on a rotational basis, ensuring preparedness for emergency responses.
- Monitor employee exposure to hazardous materials and conduct investigations concerning accidents, maintaining records of injuries, vehicle accidents, property damages, and other incidents.
- Engage with subcontractors on HSE issues as needed, while conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Project HSE Manager, demonstrating leadership and collaboration with other team members and HSE staff.
Work Experience & Education
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in large projects, preferably within the GCC area.
- At least 3 years of HSE experience related to construction or installation activities in the GCC.
- Proven experience managing HSE aspects related to working at height, excavation, large concrete placement, and tower construction.
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and accident reporting.
- Familiarity with audit compliance, monitoring guidelines, and standards, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Ideally, a degreeholder with the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), IOSH, or equivalent.
- English proficiency with an IELTS score of 6-6.5 or a TOEFL score of 60.
Preferred Skills
- Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., French, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu) is advantageous.
- Strong written communication skills for technical reports and routine correspondence.
- Excellent training and communication abilities.
- Proven capability to manage multiple sites effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to navigate complexities to develop solutions collaboratively.
- In-depth knowledge of local HSE laws, regulations, and international safety standards applicable in Qatar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
