Position

The company is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is extensively used in significant enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. In this role, you will coordinate and complete complex customer-facing projects, acting as the primary liaison between the company's engineering teams and customers. As a Project Manager for the company's Devices business, you will manage the delivery of Ubuntu images on a variety of devices, including robots, edge gateways, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects throughout their complete life cycle, ensuring goals for both the company and the client are met.
  • Deliver engineering professional services for assigned projects and work closely with engineering teams.
  • Draft project-specific schedules and plans, obtain client agreement, and manage project risks.
  • Maintain communication with clients and internal stakeholders, identifying custom engineering requests not covered by existing contracts.
  • Support different time zones and work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.

Requirements:

  • Solid project management experience in delivering engineering services, managing software development teams.
  • Extensive experience managing projects with cross-cultural and multi-continent resources.
  • Educational background in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
  • Good knowledge of Linux and the Open Source Software community; understanding of computer architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Work Conditions:

  • Full-time remote position with the flexibility to support project demands.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
