Senior - Accounts Payable and General Ledger (Healthcare)

About the Role
In this role, you will oversee hospital accounts payable and general ledger activities, ensuring that all postings are accurate, reconciliations are completed, and payments are made in a timely manner. You will lead the month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing accruals, prepayments, provisions, and balance sheet schedules. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing supplier discrepancies, expenditure allocations, and payment controls, and will coordinate with Procurement and departmental budget owners. Your duties will also include preparing financial reports and audit schedules, supervising junior accountants, and strengthening accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital accounts payable and general ledger activities, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and timely payments.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, reviewing accruals, prepayments, provisions, and balance sheet schedules.
• Review supplier discrepancies, expenditure allocations, and payment controls while coordinating with Procurement and departmental budget owners.
• Prepare financial reports and audit schedules.
• Supervise junior accountants and strengthen accounting procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in a hospital or healthcare organization.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent.
• Strong experience in financial closing, internal controls, ERP systems, Excel, and supervision of accounting staff.
