Description
Providing proactive BD support to Ogier's Caribbean partners in the firm's Cayman and BVI offices. This dynamic role will report into the Caribbean Head of Business Development and will drive the development and execution of BD plans across key markets and will contribute to our continued differentiation in the market by providing opportunities for our lawyers to interface with existing and new clients, intermediaries and referrers. This role will be responsible for taking the lead on the BD aspects of a global service line (Dispute Resolution) as well as leading local (Cayman and BVI) BD support for Dispute Resolution and Private Wealth.
Key Responsibilities
- Client relationship management (CRM)
- Work with partners to co-ordinate BD trips and client outreach activities
- Create and utilize BD plans to identify opportunities for cross-selling
- Work with the firm's client research team to undertake ad-hoc client and market research
- Coordinate and manage the firm's involvement in headline sponsorships and external events
- Assist with content development for pitches, proposals, and presentations to clients
- Project manage and produce a number of the firm's legal directory submissions
- Provide support to the client development efforts of the firm
- Translate BD activity plans into detailed budgets
- Key relationships with partners, lawyers, professionals, international BD and Marketing teams, event organizers, and external suppliers
Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years BD experience in a professional services environment
- University degree preferred
- High standard of written and verbal English language capability
- Self-motivated and independent
- Proactively identifies opportunities to bring operational efficiency to the BD function
- Strong team player with an intelligent, proactive, and pragmatic approach
- Ability to work with a range of personalities, levels, and cultural backgrounds
- Previous experience using InterAction or similar CRM system
- Previous experience using direct mail systems such as Vuture Vx, Concep, or similar
- Solid understanding of technology and high proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office
