Senior Mechanical Technician

About the Role
This position involves carrying out mechanical preventive maintenance activities and troubleshooting various types of mechanical equipment installed in the company plant facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives related to plant equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and replacement of mechanical equipment according to schedules, defect reports, and checklists for specific equipment requirements.
• Assist in planning annual shutdown and major equipment turnarounds, including complete overhaul of mechanical equipment, reassembling and testing equipment in accordance with requirements or test schedules.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining the health of mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and update job completion records and history cards for mechanical equipment.
• Adhere strictly to plant safety protocols and ensure proper housekeeping.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing suggestions, initiating modifications to improve equipment/process reliability, safety, maintainability, and cost reduction.
• Interact closely with the Shutdown Planning Team to ensure smooth operations.
• Support Safety, Environment, and Quality policies and programs, fulfilling specific duties and responsibilities as outlined in management system documentation, policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Adhere to the work management process of GTL processes/procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Extensive maintenance experience with equipment such as reactors, reformers, heat exchangers, columns, and piping components.

Job Specific Skills

• Knowledge of PTW & HSE Standards in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
• Proficiency in welding and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000, ISO 14000).
• Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) systems.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Effective planning and organizing abilities.
