This position provides legal support for the company's trading and marketing activities related to physical LNG. Key responsibilities include negotiating related agreements, administering those agreements, and managing all claims and disputes associated with these activities, including price reviews. The LNG Trading & Marketing section offers support to two distinct client groups:
- the company's LNG Marketing, which acts as an agent and service provider for LNG ventures party to the Marketing Services Agreement (referred to as “LNG Ventures”).
- the company's Trading.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate, administer, and manage agreements related to LNG trading and marketing activities.
- Handle claims and disputes arising from these agreements, including price reviews.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal teams effectively.
- Collaborate with regulators and government representatives as required.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with non-lawyers and other stakeholders.
Required Experience and Skills
- 10+ years of experience in private practice or in-house, with substantial experience in LNG Trading & Marketing activities.
- Strong legal skills, particularly in drafting agreements.
- Proven experience dealing with regulators and government representatives.
- Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and provide practical advice to non-lawyers.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English along with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
- Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self-disciplined.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
Educational Qualifications
- JD/LLB (or equivalent) degree from a recognized university.
