Position

About the Role
The role involves providing comprehensive legal support for ship acquisitions and marine transportation activities at the company. This includes key responsibilities related to the commercialization of LNG, crude oil, other liquid petroleum products, petrochemicals, chemicals, and fertilizers. You will be involved in negotiating all types of agreements pertinent to these activities, which include:

  • Acquisition and disposal of shipping capacity, encompassing sale and purchase agreements, shipbuilding contracts, charter agreements (time, voyage, and bareboat), contracts of affreightment, and container feedering contracts
  • Vessel financing
  • Management of ancillary services along with administration of agreements
  • Handling all related claims and disputes, including price and charter rate reviews

The Shipping section will cater to three distinct client groups, comprising:

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on shipping-related issues
  • Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements associated with shipping and marine transportation
  • Manage and resolve disputes and claims related to shipping activities
  • Engage with regulators and government representatives as required

Required Experience and Skills

  • Over 10 years of experience in private practice or in-house, with significant involvement in Shipping Activities
  • Strong legal skills, particularly in drafting contracts and agreements
  • Familiarity with working alongside regulators and government representatives

Educational Qualifications

  • JD/LLB (or equivalent) degree from a recognized university
