Unit Head – SME Commercial

About the Role
This position is responsible for managing a team of credit analysts and relationship managers, with accountability for overseeing, managing, and increasing the portfolio while securing sales in alignment with the business plan.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Generation

   • Contribute to the development of the company's overall business plan by identifying income-generating opportunities in defined market industries.
   • Responsible for the team's income-generating opportunities.
   • Manage account relationships with the current portfolio, aiming to maximize account profitability, while establishing relationships with new customers within the sector.
   • Handle accounts in specific situations where Senior Relationship Managers (S.RM) or Relationship Managers (RMs) are not available.

2. Credit Management

   • Review credit proposals for new exposures as well as additional facilities for existing clients within the portfolio.
   • Ensure that the team maintains proper documentation for all credit exposure in accordance with internal and external guidelines.
   • Maintain credit quality of the designated portfolio by overseeing constant monitoring of accounts and minimizing non-performing assets.

3. Team Management

   • Ensure that the team receives well-defined objectives, with a clear set of expectations.
   • Be responsible for identifying areas for training and collaborating with HR to reinforce the team.

4. Profitability

   • Generate income from the portfolio.
   • Maximize market share.
   • Generate profitability through cross-selling of products and services.

Requirements

• Education & Experience Requirement
  • Omani Nationals only.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in SME banking or related fields is required.
  • Strong understanding of SME banking products, credit analysis, risk management, and regulatory requirements, along with experience in leading teams and developing business strategies.
