Position

The MENA Retail Team is looking for a talented and customer-centric Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who will be part of the Retail Selection Team, contributing to key Retail initiatives and goals by driving business insights and building the data pipeline. While the focus area will be Selection (bringing the most relevant products for our customers), the role requires working on a broad set of topics across Amazon Retail functions. To be successful in this role, you must have superior analytical, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, operating in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment, working independently and taking full control and responsibility for achieving business objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc., to drive key business decisions across Retail functions.
  • Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to drive not only selection growth but also conversion through the selection funnel.
  • Analyze data, interpret reports and information, and publish recommendations and action plans for stakeholders.
  • Transform customer insights into projects, features, and processes that increase and diversify the selection of products offered by Retail.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
