About the Job:
This role is globally responsible for managing IT projects initiated by the business or the internal IT organization, starting from the Project Initiation document. The primary responsibilities include planning, monitoring, documenting, and reporting on IT projects internationally, as well as acting as the IT contact for operations and the business during projects and start-ups. This involves managing expectations and success requirements through collaboration with stakeholders, identifying and addressing project risks, and ensuring that the business is informed about the manageability and continuity aspects upon project delivery. Furthermore, this position involves aligning IT colleagues on planning, progress, demands, and documentation, and managing knowledge transfer to the IT support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop feasible project plans that achieve goals and align with the organization’s overall business strategy.
- Maintain optimal project plan standards for efficient project delivery.
- Define project scope, identify resources, and estimate time and financial commitments.
- Collaborate with global IT colleagues and internal departments on planning, progress, demands, and documentation.
- Coordinate with third-party contractors or consultants in various countries where IT projects are managed.
- Organize project meetings to share updates and address risks.
- Define, schedule, and estimate task duration for realistic project timelines.
- Monitor project budgets and adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project to ensure alignment.
- Conduct risk assessments and take actions to mitigate potential risks.
- Address issues that arise during the project while keeping it on track.
- Provide detailed reporting to the project team and advise management on strategic matters.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and knowledge transfer to the IT support team.
- Develop processes for continuous improvement in project management.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Theoretical and practical project management knowledge, with preferences for IT project management methodologies like Prince2, Scrum, or Agile.
- Familiarity with techniques, tools, and project/event management.
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
- Strong communication skills in English and Dutch.
- Basic knowledge of IT systems and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Negotiation abilities and capability to read and interpret contracts and SLAs.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Proactive, self-directed behavior with strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Team membership skills and the ability to share knowledge effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and the flexibility to work during weekends and nights.
