Position

We are seeking an Associate Support Engineer to support the technical needs of customers utilizing Ubuntu and open source products. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about Linux and eager to learn. You will tackle complex technical challenges, providing expert support across our cloud, desktop, and IoT offerings. Responsibilities include managing support cases from qualification through resolution, drafting technical notices, and contributing to our knowledge base.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for employees from your remote home office.
  • Take ownership of cases via telephone, email, and web.
  • Maintain communication with customers, ensuring timely updates.
  • Meet our Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments for customer satisfaction.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles.
  • Draft technical notices for communication.
  • Participate in a weekend working rotation.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record, with a degree in a technical subject preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration.
  • Basic experience in programming and networking.
  • Understanding of virtualization and cloud computing concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a customer-facing role under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with virtualized environments (KVM, VMWare).
  • Active participation in open-source projects.
