We are hiring an Associate Support Engineer to support the technical needs of our customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. This role is perfect for a hands-on engineer eager to learn and passionate about Linux and open source technologies. You will solve interesting technical problems, provide expert-level support, and contribute to high customer satisfaction across cloud, desktop, and IoT environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for employees from your remote home office.
  • Manage support cases via telephone, email, and web, ensuring timely updates and customer satisfaction according to our Service Level Agreement.
  • Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones.
  • Draft and distribute technical notices for internal and external communication.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to address urgent issues first.
  • Maintain regular communication with the team, ensuring knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Participate in a regular weekend working rotation.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
  • Confidence to engage in feedback and idea sharing.
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and Linux server administration.
  • Basic hands-on experience in programming (e.g., bash, Perl, Ruby, C++, Go) and networking concepts.
  • Ability to learn quickly and perform well under customer-facing pressures.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Appreciation for diversity and effective interaction in a multicultural, multinational organization.
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience supporting virtualized environments (KVM, Virtual Box, VMWare).
  • Contributions to open-source projects/forums.
