Position

This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a Professional Services team (also known as Field Engineering), assisting customers in understanding and implementing Canonical's open-source solutions both in public clouds and within their own data centers. The position encompasses a wide array of cloud offerings, from Ubuntu, virtualization, and private cloud to Kubernetes and sophisticated open-source solutions, such as MLOps platforms and data platforms. The team is rapidly expanding its services into new industries, including telecommunications, finance, healthcare, and media.

As a Cloud Professional Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the team's direction, focusing on delivery, and contributing technically when necessary. The ideal candidate should possess deep engineering expertise, with a commitment to developing management skills among engineers interested in soft skill training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers ranging from graduates to seniors.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
  • Identify and measure team health indicators.
  • Implement disciplined engineering processes.
  • Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate as part of the leadership team on goals and projects.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, including Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Practical experience with Linux and networking.
  • Experience in technical presales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A track record of developing and mentoring engineers.
  • Organized with the ability to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Exceptional academic background (preferably including university education).
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for internal events, external tech events, and customer meetings.

Additional Skills Considered a Plus:

  • Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French preferred).
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners and internal teams.
