About the Job:
Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. Our customers include major public cloud and silicon providers as well as industry leaders.

We are hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect for our Alliances team to assist our partners, such as Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, and Accenture, in adopting our open source platform. You will support a variety of alliances and partners to implement our products and technologies, and work with business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs from a technical perspective.

As a member of our worldwide field engineering team, you will be expected to provide expert insights into customer problems, enabling the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and a range of associated technologies. You will also engage in customer-facing tasks, such as pitching and demonstrating Canonical's solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments.
  • Architect cloud infrastructure solutions using technologies like Kubernetes, OpenStack, and more.
  • Architect and integrate popular open source software like PostgreSQL and NGINX.
  • Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and conduct technical validations with partners.
  • Prepare and conduct onboarding sessions/workshops with partner teams to promote Canonical products.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Linux (preferably Ubuntu), Kubernetes, and software automation.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds.
  • Understanding of Python and Bash with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Interest in customer-facing engagement.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
