We are hiring a Cloud Support Engineer to deliver an outstanding technical support experience across the full cloud technical stack at Canonical. This role combines Linux support and software engineering skills, along with a passion for technology and an understanding of the entire stack, from hardware to applications, networking, Linux, and open source. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will help customers maximize their solutions from Canonical by providing exceptional technical support and engineering solutions for various open source technologies, including Ubuntu Server and Desktop, OpenStack, and Kubernetes. This is an exceptional opportunity for an open source enthusiast who thrives under pressure.

Location:
This role is office-based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Candidates must be based there or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply your knowledge of Linux virtualization using Libvirt/KVM, containers, and Kubernetes to support customized solutions for customers.
  • Serve as a technical authority, demonstrating experience with popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, Corosync/Pacemaker, MongoDB, MySQL, and Apache.
  • Provide advice on deployed architecture, implement solutions for complex problems, and guide customers to successful data center infrastructure operations.
  • Communicate regularly with the customer team regarding ongoing issues.

What We Are Looking For:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Open source development or scripting experience.
  • Professional experience with OpenStack is a strong plus.
  • Professional experience with Kubernetes and/or Ceph.
  • Must be fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in customer-facing roles.
  • High motivation, ability to multitask, and a commitment to follow up on tasks.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn new technologies, including LXD, Snaps, MAAS, Juju, and Ubuntu.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
