Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, known for its platform Ubuntu, which is extensively used in public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. As we expand our reach in mission-critical industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco, we are hiring Embedded Linux Consultants. Successful candidates will possess strong Linux skills, particularly in low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development. They should be experienced with containerization, system debugging, and be passionate about working in a fast-paced environment with diverse client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology.
  • Propose solutions to prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects.
  • Convey market requirements to stakeholders and participate in developing solutions.
  • Act as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor to Canonical.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu).
  • Proficiency in embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, RTOS).
  • Fluency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English in addition to the local language (for positions in Japan and Korea, fluency in the local language is required).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet commitments.
