Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets, known for its platform, Ubuntu, which is widely used across various sectors including public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, IoT, automotive, medical devices, industrial systems, robotics, telecommunications, and consumer electronics.

We are seeking Embedded Linux Consultants who are skilled in Linux systems and passionate about technology. Ideal candidates should have solid experience in Linux environments, especially with embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, or RTOS), and proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust. This position involves engaging with customers during presales, delivering projects related to Embedded Linux, and acting as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to gather requirements and present our technology.
  • Develop and propose solutions to prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects.
  • Provide market requirements to key stakeholders and contribute to solution development.
  • Serve as a customer advocate within Canonical.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • Experience in embedded Linux development.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust).
  • Professional written and spoken English, and proficiency in the local language for positions in Japan and Korea.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.
