Position

Join Canonical as an Engineering Manager with a focus on collaborative open-source development tooling for the Launchpad team. This role is designed for a motivated individual passionate about open-source software, Linux, and web services. Launchpad supports essential infrastructure for open-source development projects, including major initiatives like Ubuntu.

As an engineering manager, your primary responsibility will be to support and grow your team of engineers, ensuring they are engaged and delivering valuable work. Your leadership will foster a positive engineering culture, facilitate technical delivery, and contribute to strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Growing and leading a team of engineers in your region.
  • Developing talent through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with a distributed team and community.
  • Advocating for modern software development practices.
  • Engaging with the broader leadership team.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote role with international travel up to 6 weeks per year for internal and external events.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in leading distributed teams and managing production services at scale.
  • Passionate about mentoring and developing talent.
  • Knowledgeable in delivering high-quality software and designing complex distributed systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid experience in an agile development environment.
