Position

Bring your data analytics and data mining skills to a unique team seeking to understand and shape the future of marketing technology. We aim to explore technology adoption patterns, respect visitor data, and enhance the use of open source in marketing. We are particularly interested in marketing data analysts who are curious enough to embrace new technologies and are ready to work with unfamiliar tools, as needed.

As a Junior Data Engineer at Canonical, you will be part of a team that drives commercial outcomes across our portfolio of products through digital marketing campaigns, lifecycle management, events, partnerships, and community development. Your role will involve utilizing advanced data analytics to grow product adoption and market penetration, designing experiments with data, collaborating with various stakeholder teams, and maintaining self-service access to data dashboards.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced data analytics to analyze Canonical's product adoption and market penetration.
  • Focus on both quantitative and qualitative data analytics to uncover insights that lead to meaningful business outcomes.
  • Design and conduct experiments, providing insights into Canonical's target audiences.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to enhance our data ecosystem.
  • Ensure teams have access to data dashboards for self-service.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Background in data science, mathematics, actuarial science, or engineering.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics, data sciences, and coding/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) as well as databases (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Apache Superset).
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze findings and identify suitable research methodologies.
