Position

This is an opportunity for an entry-level technologist with a passion for Linux and Customer Success to build a career with Canonical and support the technical needs of customers and Canonical staff. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding technical support experiences to our employees and customers.
  • Provide technical onboarding support for new employees.
  • Offer technical and infrastructure support during international events.
  • Manage new cases via telephone, email, and web, acting as an internal customer advocate.
  • Ensure that support requests are handled according to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and with the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to a common knowledge base and keep it updated.
  • Maintain regular communication with the team, both locally and remotely.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university (preferably Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
  • Experience in a Linux-based environment, either through academic coursework or work experience.
  • Proficient in Linux, including installation, troubleshooting, and basic configuration of recent Ubuntu Desktop releases.
  • Basic knowledge of desktop Linux usage and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Applications, and Single Sign-On.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Additional Skills:

  • Some knowledge of programming languages (bash, python, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, C or C++, Go).
  • Customer support experience is a plus.
