About the Job:
As a part of Canonical's Workplace Engineering team, you will join a highly skilled group specializing in web architecture and analytics. Your work will include building new tools, dashboards, and analytics to empower colleagues, managers, and executives to enhance decision-making and deliver better results.

Location:
Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions:
Full-time, 100% remote working with opportunities to travel to Sprints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver web-based systems and SaaS solutions.
  • Provide insights into the Canonical workplace experience.
  • Enable new processes and improve existing workflows.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
  • Write high-quality code to create and debug new features.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.
  • Mentor junior team members while pursuing your own professional development.
  • Connect to multiple data sources to deliver insightful visualizations.
  • Engage in database design and architecture for connected systems.

Who You Are:
To succeed in this role, you should be an expert in two or more of the following areas:

  • Backend web service programming using Python and Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Data analytics and statistical analysis.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP), sentiment analysis, and machine learning.
  • Data visualization.

You should possess an analytical mindset and a passion for working with data, while demonstrating leadership, excellence, and a commitment to mentoring others.
