About the Job: The role of a Systems Integrations Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems at Canonical is an engineering management opportunity tailored for a technologist passionate about Linux and Ubuntu. You will lead a team dedicated to integrating various business systems at Canonical, ensuring efficient data flow and automating business processes across the organization. This position involves designing, developing, and operating services critical to Canonical's business. The Commercial Systems unit collaborates closely with multiple engineering and business teams and works with popular SaaS solutions, including Salesforce, NetSuite, and others. The Integrations team utilizes technologies like Python, Go, and open source tools such as Airbyte and Temporal to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers. - Design and deliver engineering solutions utilizing Go, Python, and open source tools. - Seek improvements to established processes and engineering solutions. - Partner with business customers to discern their data and integration needs. Requirements: - Experience as a software developer in Python. - Excellent understanding of integration patterns. - Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. - Ability to collaborate remotely and maintain productivity in a fully remote environment. - Willingness to travel internationally, approximately 2-4 times per year. Preferred Skills: - Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go. - Background in a business role such as sales, finance, or operations. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related engineering field.
