About the Job:
The role of a Systems Integrations Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems at Canonical is an engineering management opportunity for a technologist with a passion for Linux and Ubuntu. This position allows you to build a career with Canonical and drive business success, working alongside some of the best people in the industry. The Commercial Systems unit has several areas of responsibility across six engineering teams, closely collaborating with other teams. The Integrations team is responsible for integrating all business systems at Canonical to ensure reliable data flow and automate business processes. The technology stack includes popular SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Greenhouse, and GSuite, leveraging Python and Go, along with open-source tools like Airbyte and Temporal.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers.
  • Design and deliver engineering solutions using Go, Python, and open-source tools.
  • Seek improvements to established processes and engineering solutions.
  • Partner with business customers to understand data and integration needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a software developer in Python.
  • Excellent understanding of integration patterns.
  • Prior experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely and remain productive in a fully remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience as a software developer in Go.
  • Background in sales, finance, or operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
