About the Job:
The Global Services team at Chainalysis consists of world-class cryptocurrency investigators and enablement specialists who build trust in blockchains by mapping cryptocurrency activity to real-world entities, which range from regulated exchanges to criminal networks. As a Data Analyst, you will work alongside investigators in blockchain forensic efforts and propose innovative solutions to both unique and recurring challenges. Your data-driven insights will be utilized for network discovery and will help reveal behaviors and patterns of life based on blockchain activity. An ideal candidate is insatiably curious and enjoys discovering new ways to optimize and enhance our investigation processes.
Location: United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize large datasets to identify criminal fingerprints across multiple blockchains.
- Use Chainalysis tools and data to uncover and characterize relationships between entities on the blockchain.
- Conduct complex research into unique data sets to identify and process collections for investigative leads.
- Build data science subject matter expertise among teammates and customers.
- Provide valuable insights directly to customers through data analytics, enhancing their user experience and deepening existing relationships.
- Master our rich datasets, ensuring visibility both internally and externally.
- Design and launch innovative solutions to support ever-expanding customer and company use cases.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of demonstrated expertise in data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- Background knowledge of blockchain analytics or forensic investigations.
- Data-focused investigative research experience in intelligence, law enforcement, or academic settings.
- Prior experience using data analytics to solve real-world problems, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
- Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience producing investigative reports in cybersecurity or geopolitical fields.
