Position Overview
As a proficient backend engineer, you'll play a pivotal role within our team at Chainnodes. We are seeking an individual with knowledge in high performance backend engineering, low level engineering, performance optimization, custom memory management and scaling backend infrastructures to hundreds of thousands of requests per second. The ideal candidate will demonstrate multiple years of professional experience in Backend engineering with Rust or Go and professional experience in the field of blockchain. Your responsibilities will primarily revolve around crafting high performance backend infrastructure and deploying it at scale. Knowledge and experience in the field of DevOps is a requirement as you will manage and maintain not just your code but also our backend infrastructure. Kubernetes experience is a plus.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, values user experience, and is eager to contribute to the evolution of decentralized applications. Please note that this position is solely on-site in Dubai, UAE. While you can get started right away, we will require you to relocate within 1-2 months. We can sponsor your Visa application to the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly performant Rust Backend applications.
- Integrate Web3 libraries and concepts into your code.
- Unit test and performance test your code, including ongoing performance optimizations.
- Write DevOps pipelines to deploy your applications at scale with no downtime on kubernetes clusters.
- Manually test, document and understand your backend application. Create Postman libraries and test suites.
- Create mock blockchain nodes and an easy to use development environment for the backend applications.
- Use separation of concerns inside our tech stack and infrastructure. Create microservices that communicate with each other.
- Work directly with our customers. Create an incident response suite to fix common issues and guarantee high uptime and availability of our backend infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Rust with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Experience using the Rust web framework Rocket.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the HTTP protocol, including understanding potential low level optimization concepts like streaming, caching and reverse proxying.
- Knowledge of development tools and methodologies, including version control systems like Git, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing frameworks tailored for iOS.
- Experience or prior work in Blockchain and especially the Ethereum ecosystem is a must.
- Experience in Go is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes and DevOps tools is a big plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
