About the Job
At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. As a Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial role in our Professional Services team, acting as a technical lead on exciting distributed data projects within both private and public sector organizations. You will engage from the Proof of Concept (PoC) stages all the way through to production implementation in complex distributed environments. Your work will inspire and facilitate our customers' journeys in implementing enterprise data architectures, identifying and developing use cases, and optimizing performance through comprehensive root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Motivate and guide customers through their Enterprise Data Cloud journey.
- Engage in both pre and post-sales processes, providing insights to sales and product teams regarding customer use cases.
- Drive POCs with customers to successful conclusions.
- Design and implement Enterprise Data Cloud architectures and configurations tailored to customer needs.
- Collaborate directly with customer technical teams to recommend and implement solutions based on their requirements.
- Advocate for best practice design patterns in distributed data pipelines and analytical computing architectures.
- Plan and deliver informative presentations and workshops for both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor junior consultants and assist with the technical hiring process.
- Produce technical documentation, including blogs and knowledgebase articles.
Qualifications:

- A passion for solving real-world problems using cutting-edge technology.
- Customer-facing and consulting experience with large-scale distributed data/computing solutions.
- Strong expertise with Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem or related technologies, especially in deployment and administration.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with open source programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.
- Understanding of the data management ecosystem, including concepts like data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
- Previous experience with implementing data transformation and processing solutions using Hadoop or related technologies (e.g., HDFS, HIVE, Impala, HBase, NiFi).
- A strong grasp of authentication and authorization configuration for Hadoop-based distributed systems (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, Kerberos).
- Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
