About the Job:
The Data Governance Lead will play a critical role in assessing and improving data management practices at the client organization. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Assess Current State: Conduct a thorough evaluation of existing data governance, quality, security, and privacy practices, identifying gaps and challenges in meeting NDMO requirements and industry best practices.

  • Develop NDMO Roadmap: Create a comprehensive plan for implementing effective NDMO compliance, including clear objectives, timelines, and milestones.

  • Policy & Procedure Development: Draft and review data governance policies, procedures, and standards aligned with NDMO guidelines. This includes data classification, quality standards, security policies, and retention policies.

  • Data Inventory & Classification: Assist in a comprehensive data inventory and classification exercise across all departments, guiding the development of a data catalog and metadata management framework.

  • Data Quality Improvement: Define metrics for data quality and implement measures to enhance accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Data Security & Privacy: Assess current data security measures and enhance them to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations such as the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

  • Technology & Tools: Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and tools for effective data management, including data lakes and governance tools.

  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to promote data governance principles and foster a data-driven culture among employees.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders across IT, business units, legal, and compliance departments to ensure successful implementation of the NDMO program.

  • Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor progress towards compliance goals and report on key performance indicators, continuously reviewing and updating the NDMO roadmap and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) guidelines and the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
  • Experience in conducting data assessments, developing governance frameworks, and implementing data management solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
