We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Data Platform Engineer to administer the data platform and infrastructure that powers our analytics, data science, and product teams. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in building modern data pipelines and wrangling large, complex datasets while using the latest technologies to support data-driven use cases across the organization.
You will work closely with software engineers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure seamless data integration, optimal data delivery, and high system reliability. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining analytical environments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business needs and objectives
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Analyze and organize raw data
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Interpret trends and patterns; build algorithms and prototypes
- Assemble large, complex data sets to meet functional/non-functional business requirements
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a variety of sources using SQL and big data technologies
- Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
Education & Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in a Data Engineer role
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
- Experience in data platform administration, Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and Synapse is mandatory
- Experience in Azure Data Lake Storage and VPN and network integrations is mandatory
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases
- Experience in optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and datasets
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Experience in supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
