Responsibilities
Functional:
- Architect and implement scalable data pipelines to support generative AI and cybersecurity technologies
- Lead the design and development of data models and infrastructure for large-scale program deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data infrastructure and ensure reliability and performance
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering and governance to ensure data integrity and security
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address their data engineering needs
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering and recommend innovative solutions
Skills and attributes for success
- Advanced technical skills in Azure Data Factory, Stream Analytics and Synapse, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, as well as experience with distributed computing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
- Architectural expertise, including knowledge of cloud-based data services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Leadership and project management.
- Collaboration and communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud computing, or related fields
- 8+ years of overall experience in data engineering and cloud technologies
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or principal role in data engineering
