The DevOps Engineer role requires the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Working in an agile development environment, the engineer will develop a continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline, prioritize development items, and create Proof-of-Concepts to assess the feasibility of software applications and tools. Other responsibilities include integrating code changes continuously, conducting automated tests for software functionality, automating deployment processes, managing software release versions, and collaborating with internal business partners to gather requirements and implement updates. The position demands adaptability in a fast-paced setting, with essential skills in programming, continuous integration and deployment tools, automated testing, configuration management, as well as knowledge of crypto primitives and authentication protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Determine software application and feature enhancement requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and document client needs and business requirements.
- Formulate solutions, alternatives, and design specifications.
- Analyze client operations to identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate business and technical requirements into test cases and scripts.
- Develop IT solutions and reusable components.
- Perform security vulnerability testing and automated testing.
- Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to production environments.
- Propose recommendations for performance improvement through gap analysis.
- Document and complete knowledge transfer to production support.
- Manage critical bugs or incidents.
- Ensure adherence to information security policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Preferred tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution.
- 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience in DevOps.
- Experience delivering complex technical tasks and supervising junior staff.
- Basic understanding of business and operating environments.
