About the Job
The Senior Software Engineer - Android will be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications targeted at a wide range of Android devices. This role includes managing the development of Android applications, integrating them with back-end services, and collaborating with engineers and developers across various infrastructure layers. The engineer will design, code, test, and debug applications for the Android platform, troubleshooting and solving complex problems while creating innovative solutions. Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in mobile application development is essential.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Android applications, including developing new features, debugging existing code, and optimizing the applications for the best user experience.
- Contribute to the overall design and architecture of the codebase.
- Understand the Android platform, write code in Java, and use Android development tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and engineering, to develop and implement new features.
- Mentor and guide other Android developers on the team, providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Ensure applications meet high standards of quality, performance, and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure that code is maintainable, scalable, and efficient.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the development process.
- Work with other teams to ensure that applications meet user expectations.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve development processes and application performance.
Qualifications
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution.
- 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience demonstrating required competencies.
- Experience as a specialist individual contributor or team lead managing and delivering projects.
- Technical supervision skills and demonstrated expertise in complex technical activities.
- Experience working with senior staff on complex issues, larger clients, accounts, or projects.
