The Information Systems Engineer will leverage engineering tools and processes for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of NTT infrastructure and systems. This role requires independent troubleshooting skills to research and resolve medium to complex issues.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain new hardware or software to provide new services or to resolve user and system problems.
- Perform troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
- Conduct system administration tasks including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
- Test and validate new systems to ensure they fulfill the requested functionality and quality.
- Implement backup and recovery procedures to maintain system availability.
- Perform proactive system monitoring by collecting availability, performance metrics, and system logs.
- Execute hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
- Define, raise, and execute changes as part of the Change Management Process.
- Create and maintain system documentation and records of fixes, modifications, or changes.
- Manage tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfillment.
- Document work results, actions taken, and resolution details in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with vendors or other delivery organizations as necessary for support.
- Suggest service improvements and identify potential problems within the system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of required infrastructure technology and software.
- Proficient in management tools and languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL).
- Good troubleshooting skills and technical understanding.
- Solid verbal and written communication abilities.
- Understanding of ITIL support processes (Incident, Change, Request Management).
- Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions.
- Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCP, A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role within an information technology environment.
