Our Platform Engineering team is the backbone of our cloud modernization journey. We architect and engineer the next generation of cloud platforms that unify control across datacentres, networks, and public and private cloud environments. We emphasize automation, agility, and cost optimization to enable scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure services that power critical business functions across the Emirates Group.
As a Principal Engineer, you will design, develop, implement, and support infrastructure solutions aligned with corporate business and IT strategies. You will engage with stakeholders while ensuring operational availability and quality of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop IT solutions that meet customer requirements, ensuring robust and high-quality designs.
- Manage and maintain complex solution designs for large projects or platforms.
- Provide expert technical consultancy within the technology domain, acting as a lead technical expert.
- Contribute to the development of Architecture Guiding Principles and corporate IT standards.
- Track technology and business innovations to align with our IT strategy.
- Ensure implemented solutions meet service level requirements in terms of availability, capacity, and performance.
- Publish and maintain high-quality documentation for technology areas.
- Manage End-of-Life replacement of equipment and software within the technology domain.
- Lead solution design reviews and provide expert advice to projects on architectural standards.
- Inspire, manage, and coach a virtual team of at least 20 individuals.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in IT Engineering.
- Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining network automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) concepts and automation techniques.
- Proficiency in designing and managing multi-tenant, software-defined networking architectures.
- Experience in developing API-driven network automation workflows.
