About
This role involves providing technical assistance and operational support for engineering systems essential to the airline's functions. It also involves administrative support, coordination with IT, Engineering and Aircraft Manufacturers and other Vendors to implement Client/server, or web-based Engineering and Maintenance Applications and provide user support. Assistance in implementations, and maintenance of Engineering Systems updates, including producing user guides and arrange training on required systems and applications.
- Analyse user requirements, assessing business impacts and benefits, customizing/re-engineering business processes, additional Hardware/Software requirements and providing reports or presentations related to chosen application.
- Evaluate user training needs, develop training material, arrange, or provide in-house training for all Digital documents on Engineering servers.
- Assist in testing and implementing Aircraft Information Support Applications from Aircraft/Engine manufacturers and ensure timely updates of revisions and releases.
- Coordinate with vendors to report and resolve system errors, prioritising them based on functions criticality and operational impact within the contractual resolution time.
- Responsible for the administration of the Engineering System applications and user profile management of the dedicated business area, which includes auditing on a periodic basis.
- Liaising with Engineering users to develop new functional requirements to evaluate impact on user productivity vs costs involved, procedural changes and develop user guides.
- Support Engineering Systems in implementation of PC or Client/Server based applications, updating new releases, in-house development of required functionalities and ensure serviceability of computer related equipment/peripherals in EK Engineering.
- Act as a focal point for Engineering and IT for Engineering application support, liaising with system-related problems with third-party vendors in trouble-shooting and bug fixing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering. Maintenance Control.
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- 2+ yrs Proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
- Knowledge/skills: 12 years schooling or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in a related field is acceptable.
- Experience in Engineering Information Systems, user support, documentation and developing decision support tools for management.
- Knowledge of legal requirements, Air Transport Association Standards, Aircraft Manuals latest/varied techniques and computer systems in Airline Engineering.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Project management certificates are an asset.
