About the Job
The Senior Analytics Specialist will report to one of the Analytics Managers and work under the guidance of the Business Engagement Partners. This role leverages advanced analytical skills, data science techniques, and a comprehensive analytical toolkit to analyze and visualize Etihad’s enterprise data resources. The primary objective is to answer high-value analytical questions posed by various departments within Etihad Airways, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Continuous development of data science and advanced analytics skills is encouraged, ensuring alignment with industry-leading business intelligence (BI) capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the Analytics Manager and/or Business Engagement Partner to analyze requirements and design solutions for business problems.
- Execute complex, ad-hoc analyses using Etihad’s analytical toolkit, proactively seeking further insights and root causes.
- Develop and deliver machine learning-based reports and predictive analytics to support data-driven decision-making, enabling the business to anticipate trends, uncover new opportunities, and optimize performance.
- Summarize and visualize data science-driven results, highlighting actionable insights for the business translator.
- Maintain a documentation repository of solutions, including methodology.
- Identify opportunities for automation and improvements in analysis approaches, making recommendations for further development.
- Develop and maintain proficiency with advanced analytic and database tools, in-house data sets, and other resources, becoming a ‘go-to’ person in key analytical disciplines.
- Act as an expert and coach to the wider analytics team.
- Assist in the development and training of Analytics Analysts level 1 personnel to enhance their understanding of the analytical toolkit and problem-solving techniques.
Education & Experience
- A diploma is required (2 years or more); additional qualifications in data science or relevant analytical techniques are advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 7 years with a High School Certification/Diploma in a relevant field, demonstrating a proven track record in advanced analytics.
- Preferred experience in query tool applications such as SQL, Databricks, Python, and Synapse.
- Proficiency in analytical tools like Power BI or Tableau is essential.
