About the Job
The Enterprise Application Architect plays a crucial role in leading, facilitating, analyzing, and designing the application landscape to ensure applications evolve in alignment with organizational goals. This position provides strategic guidance and governance for the entire application ecosystem, focusing on application rationalization, standards, reference architecture, and blueprints relevant to the NEOM Digital Health environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain application architecture mandates, including principles, standards, policies, reference models, and blueprints while ensuring reusability and addressing build vs buy decisions.
- Participate in the decision-making process of the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and provide architectural guidance to the extended team.
- Collaborate with TONOMUS and NEOM Health Authority to align on application architecture.
- Support the Technical Review Group (TRG) in architecture compliance reviews.
- Document and develop an in-depth understanding of the existing application portfolio.
- Define application and operational requirements and identify inter-application dependencies and interfaces.
- Analyze current architecture to identify weaknesses and propose improvements, including capacity expansion and cost reduction.
- Advise on periodic application rationalization exercises and work with enterprise and project architects to ensure applications meet performance and scalability requirements.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Architect role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with extensive experience in application development methodologies and design patterns.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps.
- Proficient in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
- Experience in mapping business capabilities and assessing applications for business criticality and technical fit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) Certified Solutions Architect) are preferred.
