About the Job
The Enterprise Application Architect plays a crucial role in leading, facilitating, analyzing, and designing tasks to ensure the evolution of applications within NEOM. This position involves providing strategic guidance and governance for the entire application landscape, understanding the interactions between applications, and making decisions regarding application rationalization, standards, reference architecture, and blueprints applicable to the wider NEOM Digital Health ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain hardware command application architecture in relation to enterprise architecture mandates, including principles, standards, policies, and reference models.
- Articulate a future state strategic application architecture direction as part of the Design Authority/Technical Review Group (TRG).
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) decision-making process.
- Provide application and integration-specific architectural guidance to the extended team.
- Collaborate with TONOMUS and NEOM Health Authority to align on application architecture.
- Support the Technical Review Group (TRG) in compliance review processes at specific gates.
- Document and develop in-depth knowledge of the existing application portfolio.
- Define application and operational requirements that computing infrastructure must support.
- Identify, analyze, and address inter-application dependencies and interfaces.
- Provide guidance on technology investments related to application and data, based on an understanding of national importance programs.
- Analyze current architecture to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvements, such as expanding capacity and increasing effectiveness.
- Advise on periodic application rationalization exercises.
- Work collaboratively with other enterprise architects and project architects to determine the most appropriate applications to achieve performance and scalability goals.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Extensive experience in application development methodologies and design patterns.
- Knowledgeable on SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, and DevOps.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and microservices architecture (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficient in using Git command line, Git Tools, and enterprise architecture tools (e.g., ABACUS).
- Experience in mapping business capabilities based on enterprise architecture best practices.
- Skilled in building diagrams representing as-is and target architecture.
- Ability to assess applications by business criticality and functional fit.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Architect role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate in team environments.
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) Certified Solutions Architect are beneficial.
