Position

In a world of possibilities, pursue one with endless opportunities at Parsons Corporation. We are seeking an exceptionally talented IT Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Project Manager on various IT projects that contribute to enhancing our community. Under direct supervision, you will provide remote technical support to end users of Parsons software, personal computers, workstations, and related hardware.

Job Description:

  • Provide analytical and IT technical support to end users of Parsons personal computers, workstations, and related software and hardware.
  • Answer end user IT questions and troubleshoot standard IT issues, questions, problems, and failures with Parsons hardware, software, peripherals, or workstations, remotely via telephone, email, or Instant Messenger.
  • Recognize, categorize, and isolate end user questions, issues, and problems; either resolve situations or refer them to more senior Service Desk staff or other Parsons IT groups.
  • Research and develop solutions for standard software and hardware questions, issues, problems, and failures.
  • Maintain a good general knowledge of the MIS environment and technologies associated with individual computers, workstations, software, and associated hardware, including Parsons standard workstation configurations.
  • Follow Parsons Policies, procedures, and standards in responding to end user requests and providing support.
  • Document and report all service requests and outcomes, adhering to standard Parsons procedures and practices.
  • Provide Service Desk on-call support for non-business hours (Weekends and Holidays).
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of related work experience providing support to end users, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • At least one Microsoft or Cisco Certification is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, as well as personal computer technology and hardware.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve common technical issues, questions, and problems related to personal computers, workstations, software, and associated hardware.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in basic professional situations.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to write basic documents, including emails or memos.
  • Typically communicate with a limited group of individuals (employees and some managers) and occasionally with clients and vendors.
