  • Job Description Overview: We are in search of a highly accomplished Lead Product Designer who can make an immediate and significant impact on our existing product. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in designing data-intensive platforms and demonstrate an exceptional ability in enhancing functionality, usability, graphical appeal, and UX pattern consistency. This role demands a combination of technical prowess, innovative design thinking, and leadership to elevate our product to the next level.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Rapidly assess and understand the current state of our product, identifying key areas for immediate improvement in functionality, usability, and design.
    • Develop and implement design strategies to enhance the product’s graphical appeal and user experience, ensuring consistency across all UX patterns.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers, to integrate advanced data processing and visualization into the product redesign.
    • Lead the redesign process, from concept to execution, prioritizing quick wins without sacrificing long-term quality and scalability.
    • Mentor and manage a team of designers, setting high standards and a clear vision for the product’s design future.
    • Conduct thorough user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and ensure alignment with user needs and business objectives.
    • Proactively identify emerging design trends and technologies that can further enhance the product's appeal and performance.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 10-15 years of experience in product design, with substantial expertise in data-intensive platforms.
    • Deep understanding of the architecture, functionality, and user experience of leading data analytics and processing platforms.
    • Proven experience working with or building products similar to Databricks, Snowflake, Google Colab, JetBrains DataLore/DataSpell, Yandex DataSphere/DataLens, or other comparable data-intensive platforms.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality design work and successful product improvements.
    • Expertise in advanced data visualization and design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite).
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
    • Data Analytics and Data Visualizations, Basic SQL knowledge, Basic Python knowledge.
    • Experience working with ETL tools, data transformations pipelines.
    • Knowledge of big data technologies and cloud platforms.
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
